Arsenal in talks with Juventus over Arthur
Arsenal have made Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo their primary target to reinforce the midfield in January, claiming multiple sources.
There are far too many obstacles in the way of Olympique Lyonnais player
Bruno Guimaraes
, so Arthur has moved to the top of the wish list for Mikel Arteta.
According to RMC Sport, Arsenal are in ‘advanced negotiations’ with the
Serie Aside to take Arthur on loan for the rest of the season.
However, Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit
Fabrizio Romano
maintains the talks are at an earlier stage and still a long way off completion.
Arthur was brought in from Barcelona in September 2020 as part of an exchange deal for
Miralem Pjanic
, a swap that 18 months on neither club is happy with.
The move was announced to be worth €76 million, with up to another €6 million in different extras.
This season, the 25-year-old has played only 11 competitive matches for Juventus and his deal runs through June 2025.
