Aston Villa boss Gerrard convinces Coutinho to pen a loan deal
Aston Villa have completed a loan swoop for Philippe Coutinho from the Blaugrana after Steven Gerrard tells his old Reds team-mate about his vision of emerging a major Midlands force.

to go back to the Premier League until the season ends. The contract has seen Coutinho reunite with his former Liverpool team-mate who is now his manager.
Villa’s boss Gerrard played a crucial role in acquiring Coutinho’s services as the duo share a good relationship.
After talks with Gerrard, the attacking midfielder was convinced to join Villa and many believe that he will hit the ground running in the second half of the season.

, Villa’s talks over signing the player went on quickly after Wednesday’s meeting. Many
Premier Leaguesides and others across Europe were eager to pen with Coutinho, but Gerrard was the one to bring his services to Villa.
Villa are sitting 13th in the table but their start to the season is promising under Gerrard’s reign.
Coutinho made 16 appearances for the Catalans this season, meeting the back of the net two times.
Villa will lock horns with Manchester United this weekend in the FA Cup and their Premier League games start on January 15, also against the Red Devils.
