Jamie Vardy out for 3-4 weeks, Brendan Rodgers confirms

Leicester City striker can be sidelined up to a month following recent hamstring injury.

Leicester City

striker

Jamie Vardy

sustained a hamstring injury during the Foxes’ 1-0 win against

Liverpool

.

Reflecting on Vardy’s injury, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers said:

"Jamie will be out for the weekend and James Maddison [also injured against Liverpool] should be fine.

"Could be the next 3-4 weeks for Vardy."

Having been suffering from numerous injured players in the squad, Rodgers requested the Premier League to let the teams make five substitutions, as it is the case in the other European top leagues.

"I think that, for me, the possibility to do that would really help to change things. Five subs definitely would help.

"We'll not get too bogged down on it or use injuries as excuses. We had a great win the other night but now we have to pick it up on Saturday.

"And they will do. They're great guys. That focus and concentration is very important, particularly in this period. We've at least got a couple of days and we'll do our final preparation for tomorrow. The players who are available will be good enough."
