Immobile tested positive for Covid-19

The Italian star will be absent in the next matches of his team.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the Covid-19

Ciro Immobile

test is positive.

After the Italian striker tested positive, he is in home quarantine with his wife Jessica. In fact, this was the reason for his absence in Friday's match against Genoa, but the club and the player have not confirmed the news. Reports indicated that the Italian striker was in quarantine but tested several times on Friday and all tests were negative.

However, La Gazzetta dello Sport has confirmed that the 31-year-old striker has contracted Covid-19 and will miss Wednesday's game against

Venezia

. Immobile also missed the Champions League against Bruges and Zenit last year due to a positive test. However, he was allowed to play in the Serie A match against Torino, which took place between two Champions League games, and played 30 minutes, scoring one goal.

Lazio

were not fined for the move, but club president Claudio Lotito was suspended for two months. Club doctors Ivo Pulcini and Fabio Roda were also suspended for five months.
