Arteta is motivated to help Aubameyang at Arsenal

Arsenal boss is not thinking about selling Aubameyang and wants to help him.

Mikel Arteta

is not thinking about selling the

Gunners’

captain

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

and hasn’t discussed it with him, but the manager understands that the 32-year-old is going through a tough time and needs help with his situation.

The Gabon international was on the bench during his side’s 2-1 defeat against

Everton

on Monday and came in the game late and missed a good opportunity in the last minutes of the game, and it is a good example to understand why Aubameyang is not in a good situation at the club.

Since Aubameyang’s move to the Premier League side from

Borussia Dortmund

, his goal rate has been decreasing, having scored every 233.6 minutes last season.

Mikel Arteta has talked about the situation of the player, insisting that he is focused on helping Aubameyang with his difficulties at the club, and he hasn’t discussed his departure in the January transfer window.

Arteta said at a media conference on Friday ahead of the weekend's clash with Southampton:

"Obviously, when a player is not scoring it's affecting his confidence, it's affecting the mood and probably the belief, but you have to rebel against this situation, don't accept it and feel sorry for yourself."
