The Norwegian coach had a very close relationship with Manchester United fans.
Former
Manchester Unitedmanager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is thrilled that his fans were calling out his name against
Villarreal.
After three seasons on the Old Trafford bench, Solskjaer was finally sent off after a 4-1 defeat to
Watford. Michael Carrick is currently in charge of the team as interim coach, and they went to Villarreal in their first game and managed to defeat their opponent 2-0 and secure their promotion to the next round of the Champions League.
During the game, some fans shouted the name of Solskjaer, and according to reports, the Norwegian was buzzed about this event. Despite Solskjaer's many failures in recent seasons, he has always had a close relationship with the fans and conducted a very emotional interview after his contract was terminated.
Reports suggest that Carrick will currently be leading the squad to replace Ralf Rangnick as Solskjaer's replacement on the Manchester United bench.
