Solskjaer departure could delay Woodward’s Man United exit

The club’s executive vice-chairman wants to help the Red Devils in appointing Solskjaer’s successor.

Following the collapse of the European Super League project earlier this year, Ed Woodward announced he would step down from his role at

Manchester United

at the end of the year.

However, the club’s decision to

part ways

with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might delay Woodward’s exit.

According to

Sky Sports

, the instability within United’s football department might keep Woodward in his position for months. The English source claims Woodward has gathered all the football staff at Manchester United on Sunday morning, telling them their jobs were completely safe.

The club want to keep the big overhaul for the summer when Man United’s new manager starts his job. On Sunday, several outlets reported that PSG’s Mauricio Pochettino is Man United’s top candidate for the managerial job. The coach himself is also said to be

interested

in the position, but he is currently focused on his job at Parc des Princes.
