‘I'm ready to play now’, says Camavinga after Real Madrid presentation

Real Madrid's new signing Eduardo Camavinga has said he feels ready to play as he is aiming to gain first-team regular in Carlo Ancelotti’s team.

The 18-year-old midfielder joined the Spanish giants late in the transfer window for a reported fee of €45million, with

Manchester United

and

Paris Saint-Germain

also linked to his signature.

The France international made 80 appearances at

Rennes

- including four games in last season’s Champions League group stage.

Camavinga will face difficult competition from

Casemiro

,

Toni Kroos

,

Luka Modric

, and

Federico Valverde

in

Real Madrid

’s midfield, but the teenager is keen to prove himself to

Carlo Ancelotti

.

"I'm ready to play now,"

Camavinga told reporters at a presentation on Wednesday

.

"As I said before, it is true that I am a young player. Maybe I need time to adapt, maybe not. I feel ready.

"I have come to learn and then I have to show the coach that I am ready and enjoy playing time."

Asked how the quality of midfield competition would impact him, Camavinga responded:

"The competition from those players motivates me a lot.

"And I'm also going to learn a lot from those players, tactically and technically."
