Szczesny: ‘I’ve always been able to ignore what people say about me’

Although Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has made some costly mistakes recently, he insists that he can ignore the criticism and regain his focus.

“One of my strengths is that I have always been able to ignore what people say about my performances, positive or negative,”

said Szczesny during a press conference.

“More often than not, these two extremes are exaggerated and the reality is somewhere in-between.”

Some Juventus fans and critics want Szczesny to step aside and would prefer Mattia Perin to replace him.

“It is important to always look forward and concentrate on the next games. We mustn’t pay attention to the outside world.”

The 31-year-old joined Juventus in 2017 on a €14 million deal plus bonuses and his contract is going to expire in June 2024.
