Chelsea’s Kenedy extends his deal with the club

Chelsea has reached a new agreement with Kenedy who is joining Flamengo on loan.

Kenedy

has extended his contract with the

Blues

until 2023 and has also agreed to join

Flamengo

on a loan deal that runs for one season. The 25-year-old winger’s previous contract at Stamford Bridge was until 2022, and now he has agreed to stay on contract with the Champions League’s reigning champions for another year, although he is going to play for another team on loan.

He has experienced four loan spells in the last five years, getting only 27 appearances for the London side since he joined the club from Fluminense in 2015 and scoring three goals.

Kenedy spent his best spell at Newcastle in 2018-19, having the second most dribbles at the club, although he had only 25 appearances for his side. He has experienced different loan spells at Getafe, Granada, Watford, and Newcastle and the most recent one was his time in Granada.

In Granada, he managed to score four goals in 28 La Liga games and completing over half of 72 dribbles that he tried to make.

Now that the Brazilian winger has returned to Brazil to play for Flamengo, he is going to feel at home as he will play in the same stadium that he used to play in when he was a Fluminense (Maracana).
