Galatasaray defender sent off for punching his teammate
Marcao was involved in an unusual brawl during his side’s clash against Giresunspor.

Marcaohead-butted and then punched Kerem Akturkoglu in an unusual brawl with his teammate. Moments after the two players were separated, VAR reviewed the incident and the referee dismissed Marcao.
According to Super Lig regulations, the incident is expected to be classified as an “assault”, which could result in further punishment for the Brazilian.
In a post-match interview, Galatasaray manager
Fatih Terim
spoke about the incident.
"The club will do what is necessary in their own way."
He added:
"Marcao will apologize to Kerem and the rest of the team for his behaviour."
Marcao joined Galatasaray from G.D. Chaves in 2018. The 25-year-old has been a key player for the Turkish side, featuring in 102 games for the club across all competitions.
