Guily excited about PSG’s ‘mind-boggling’ squad for the next season

The former Barcelona and PSG winger believes France’s Ligue 1 will benefit from the arrival of Messi.

Lionel Messi confirmed his departure from Barcelona in a

press conference

on Sunday. The Catalans were not able to sign a new contract with their star forward due to their unstable financial situation.

Having ended his 21-year stay at the Spanish side, the six-time Ballon d’Or winner has been heavily linked with

a move to Paris Saint-Germain

, with reports claiming the move to be “imminent”. The former Barca star is expected to sign a two-year contract at Parc des Princes, which will link him up with

Neymar

and

Kylian Mbappe

at PSG’s final third.

Ludovic Giuly

is already excited about the prospect of seeing such a deadly trio at the heart of PSG’s attacking line.

He told

Le Parisien

:

“We already had two of the four best players in the world, now we have the third,

"Do you realise that Neymar, Messi and Mbappe will play together in Ligue 1? It sounds mind-boggling. Ligue 1 needed such positivity.

"It will not reflect well only on Paris, but on all of France. Everyone will only talk about him, everyone will go to the stadium to see him.

"It will do our league a lot of good."

PSG won their Ligue 1 opener against Troyes with a 2-1 result on Saturday. Messi is expected to be available for PSG’s third league match of the season, which will be played against

Reims

on August 29.
