Michael Ballack’s son Emilio dies in a quad-bike crash

As per local reports in Portugal, the ex-Chelsea midfielder’s son has been killed in a quad-bike crash.

was in an accident on Thursday, as per reports from Portuguese TV channel

Firefighters rushed to the scene near the Villas do Mar estate, located in Troia, to rescue the 18-year-old but could not save him after he was removed from the vehicle.

More details regarding the tragedy are yet to be released but the quad-bike was made for public roads usage.

Ballack had played for

Chelsea

from 2006 to 2010 and is known in English football. He made a move to the club as a free agent from Bayern Munich, when he impressed as one of the best players in his position.

Ballack departed the Blues in 2010 to make a move to Bayer Leverkusen, but before that, he contributed to Premier League and FA Cup double under the reign of Carlo Ancelotti.

“Everybody associated with Chelsea Football Club is shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Emilio Ballack at the terribly young age of 18. All our thoughts are with his father Michael and his family at this sad time.”
