Spain's Luis Enrique to receive an extension if one condition is met

Luis Enrique will be rewarded with a new deal by the Royal Spanish Football Federation after his impressive leadership at Euro 2020.

Luis Enrique

pulled off a significant leadership at Euro 2020, guiding

Spain

to the semi-finals, despite their disastrous build-up given a positive Covid-19 test in camp.

Notwithstanding only a few people in Spain dreaming of advanced stages at the tournament, they reached the semi-finals but were eliminated in the semi-finals as they were defeated at the hands of Italy in a penalty shootout.

However, the Spain boss should be given a huge amount of credit, and as per

Diario AS

, he will be rewarded with a new deal at the national team.

When 2022 World Cup qualification is sealed, the RFEF will give Enrique a new contract.

La Roja are sitting top of their group after three qualifying matches; however, Sweden are siting a point adrift of them and they have one game in hand.

Spain are certain of at least a play-off spot in the second place, as they are five points above Greece in the third place, but they have had a game more.

The new contract would retain Enrique’s services until 2024 and his current contract is due to end in 2022.
