Arsenal to sign Benfica defender Tavares on £7m deal

The Sun, the Benfica defender has flown to London to complete his medical before signing the contract with the Gunners. Tavares is set to join Arsenal on a £7m deal that runs until 2026.

Kieran Tierney’s injury, Mikel Arteta was forced to use Bukayo Saka and Granit Xhaka on the left-hand side of Arsenal’s defense last season. Tierney is expected to retain his place in the Gunners’ starting lineup, while Tavares is set to serve as his back-up.
