Arsenal finalizing Brighton’s Ben White £50m deal
Having a fantastic debut season at the Amex Stadium after impressing during a loan spell at Leeds in 2019/20, the 23-year-old English centre-back emerged as the Gunners’ top defensive target this summer.
According to Sky Sports,
Arsenal’s starting £40m offer was rejected by the Seagulls last week. However,
the outlet reports nowthat discussions are continuing over a deal that could be worth in excess of £50m.
Brighton’s
owner Tony Bloom will seemingly not stand in
White's
way if he decides to leave the club if the club’s demands are satisfied. Hence, negotiations are centered on the structure of payments as personal terms are not expected to be a problem, as all parties are hopeful a deal can be completed.
Spending 36 Premier League appearances for Brighton last season, White impressed as Brighton survived relegation and finished 16th in the Premier League with the joint-best defense in the bottom half of the league as they conceded 46 goals.
For this summer’s European Championship competition, Ben White replaced Trent Alexander-Arnold's at England's squad after the Liverpool Fullback’s withdrawal from England’s squad due to an unfortunate injury.
