Flick claims his team "were lacking the final punch"

Bayern Munich coach, Hansi Flick believes his team could have done better in their Champions League quarter-final draw against Paris Saint-Germain.

Following the 2-3 defeat at home in the first leg,

Bayern

should have scored at least two goals in Paris to keep going on Tuesday, but they only managed to have a 1-0 triumph and crashed out on away goals.

"Given the first leg, with all our chances and the ones we gave away; without the third goal, we would be through. You saw how dangerous they are in attack. I have to pay huge compliments to my team, even though Paris progressed. As a fair loser, I would like to congratulate them,"

Flick

announced in an interview with

Sky Germany

(by UEFA.com).

"Normally, my team has so much quality in the final third, but today they were lacking the final punch. We have to accept that, even though we would have liked a different outcome."

Bayern captain,

Manuel Neuer

highlighted that the German champions made life unnecessarily difficult for themselves by losing 2-3 in the first leg in Munich.

"We weren't eliminated tonight, the result in Munich needed to be better. That was frustrating because we missed so many chances. We're on our last legs – it's tough against such a top side, but the players gave everything on the pitch,"

Neuer explained to Sky.
