The result was of extraordinary importance - Davide Ballardini

Genoa coach Davide Ballardini, who was in charge of his 100th game with the Rossoblu, said the point from the 1-1 draw with Fiorentina was of ‘extraordinary importance’.

Franck Ribery was sent off in the 51st minute and Fiorentina played almost half of the time with ten men, but Ballardini insisted that his men secured an important point too.

It was a difficult game,

” he told Sky Sport Italia. “

The result was of extraordinary importance, also because we were facing a team that recently changed coach

.

“The resumption of the championship is always difficult after the break. It was not a nice game, a dirty game on our part.

“From a performance point of view, we were too burdened. When you draw against a team like Fiorentina, the displeasure is limited.”
