Benzema: Cristiano's departure allowed me to play a different role
Real Madrid French striker enjoyed playing alongside Ronaldo.
The Portuguese superstar helped Real to win two La Liga and four Champions League titles.
Ronaldo made incredible progress in Real's squad, scoring more than 50 goals for the team for six consecutive seasons, becoming Real's top scorer with 450 goals in 438 games.
Since Ronaldo joined Los Blancos, other strikers like Benzema were always in his shadow but after the 36-year-old left for
Juventus, other players got the chance to flourish in Real’s squad.

Karim Benzema, who became the team’s ace after Ronaldo left, has talked to
El Paisabout his time with Portugal international.
He said:
“Cristiano's departure allowed me to play a different role. He scored 50 goals every year and you had to adapt to his game. He is one of the best in the world and I was happy by his side.”
Since Ronaldo left the club, Benzema finally found the chance to show his true potential and has scored 74 goal in 129 appearances he made for the team.
