Liverpool target Real Madrid’s Rodrygo for the summer
The Whites forward is expected to leave the La Liga giants in the upcoming transfer season with Liverpool being one of his admirers.
According to
TEAMtalk(via
Diario Gol),
Liverpoolare planning to sign
Real Madrid’s
Rodrygofor £50 million after seeing their major flop in this year’s
Premier Leaguecampaign.
Though Rodrygo’s contract extends till 2025, Los Blancos may be ready to let go of the Brazilian in order to reduce some of their financial pressures.
Liverpool have already been eyeing the youngster since his times with
Santosand considering that he has been given only four starts with Zinedine Zidane’s squad, a career at Anfield may seem like a more luring option for him.
In an interview with
ESPN,
former Santos coach, Elano, confirmed the interest received from the Reds, saying:
“There was a period when there was very strong interest from Liverpool for him to leave when he was still at base.”
“The values were very low, but they wanted to have a go. Real’s offer afterwards was around €30m more! I had a conversation with the staff and said the boy was worth the bet.”
In his four appearances with Real Madrid, Rodrygo has been able to deliver four assists.
