Peter Crouch believes Man Utd should target West Ham's Declan Rice

Peter Crouch trusts Manchester United should utilize Jesse Lingard as a makeweight in an arrangement for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

Lingard has made a fine commencement to life at the London Stadium after joining the Hammers borrowed until the term's finish in the January transfer window.

Lingard has just scored three goals in his initial four appearances for David Moyes' squad, who right now sit fourth in the

Premier League

standings.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he needs a "

revitalised

" Lingard back at Man Utd in front of next season.

Be that as it may, it stays not yet clear whenever United will keep hold of the 28-year-old midfielder, who didn't get the chance to play a single Premier League minute for the club in the first half of the season.

Former England international

Peter Crouch

, figures it would bode well for the Red Devils to offer Lingard a part of an exchange deal for acquiring Rice.

The England midfielder, who has rumored with links to Manchester lately, is appreciating a good season with

West Ham United

"I love Declan Rice," Crouch told the

Daily Mail

. "I have got a few friends who are West Ham fans and they want the club to break the bank, make him club captain and do all that it takes to keep him there for the next 15 years. He's a brilliant player and could play for any of the top sides.

"[A swap deal] makes sense for United. Lingard needs to get away as his time at Old Trafford is up, while Rice is the kind of player United need to add.

"Would West Ham do that deal? I'm not so sure. We'll see what happens."

As indicated by The Times, United impeded a programmed buyout statement in Lingard's loan deal.

The inclusion of such a provision would have permitted West Ham to buy the 28-year-old for a fixed charge.

The Hammers are said to have paid £1.5m to acquire Lingard for the rest of the term.
