Fran Escriba is the new head coach of Elche
La Liga team, Elche have confirmed that ex-coach, Fran Escriba is their new manager.
The Valencian team approved the removal of ex-boss, Jorge Almiron in the weekend after their 3-1 loss against Celta Vigo.
have decided to select Almiron’s replacement quickly, with Escriba coming back to the Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero less than 24 hours later.
Escriba excellently carried Elche to top-flight promotion in 2013, after a 24-year absence.
However, he quit right after the team was controversially relegated because of financial violations in 2015, and joined Getafe.
After spending a season in Madrid, he was dismissed by Getafe, before moving to Villarreal in 2016, and coaching them to a Europa League finish.
He was sacked in September 2017, before managing Celta in March 2019 and saving the Galicians from relegation.
He didn't work since leaving the Estadio Balaidos in November 2019.
The 55-year-old has the battle to evade relegation at
Elche, as Almiron leaves the team three points adrift of safety.
