Bayern Munich's Goretzka and Boateng unavailable against Bielefeld

Bayern Munich head coach Hans-Dieter Flick affirmed that both Leon Goretzka and Jerome Boateng got back to training grounds in the weekend, yet neither of the two would be accessible for Monday's face-off against Bielefeld.

After a training course on Sunday, the 55-year-old Hansi Flick gave an update on his two key players' recovery process.

Joshua Kimmich's preferred midfield duo Leon Gortezka remains out of action after a setback during his COVID-19 recuperation process. The 26-year-old has recovered from his infection to the degree that he's returned in the senior team training sessions, yet Flick wants to play it safe after the Germany international pulled a lower leg muscle.

Likewise, Center-back Jerome Boateng got back to full training on Sunday after a personal misfortune drove him away from action before the end of last week. Flick clarified that the seasoned defender would not highlight in Monday's squad list and would not be hurried back until he by and by felt himself prepared to play.

The decorated Thomas Müller got back to Germany on Friday, arriving at the airport with full protective equipment resembling an astronaut outfit. In the wake of contracting the coronavirus, the 31-year-old attacking midfielder was promptly precluded from the 21 and 22 rounds of

Bundesliga

fixtures.
