Rodgers will use Vardy against Brighton

Brendan Rodgers says that Vardy will play in their FA Cup match.

Brendan Rodgers

says that

Vardy

is going to play as a starter against Brighton in the FA Cup, after testing his fitness by letting him play 30 minutes in the Premier league. Vardy played 30 minutes in

Leicester City’s

0-0 draw against Wolves.

“[Vardy] hasn’t lost too much fitness,"

Rodgers told the Leicester Mercury.

“That’s the reality. It’s only been a couple of weeks, and he’s got a great level of fitness.

“We gave him a half-hour and you could see the dynamism he brings to the team. We’ll definitely get him some minutes on Wednesday, whether that’s in the first period of the game or the second. He’ll feature at some point.”

Leicester City’s boss insists that FA Cup is an important competition for the club and that they are going to use their best players.

“We’ll have a strong 11," he said. "We’ll make changes, there’s no doubt about that. We have to consider the month of games and the early kick-off at the weekend [against Liverpool]. It will still be a strong squad.

“We want to get to the quarter-finals.”

And about Vardy’s form he says that although he has lost his fitness but he is going to be ready and fit soon. Vardy’s absence has highlighted his importance to the team.
