“Eriksen has begun climbing the pecking order at Inter” - Bergomi

Beppe Bergomi believes that Christian Eriksen will perform better now that he has been moved to his play-maker position.

The Denmark international

Christian Eriksen

has featured as a deep lying ‘regista’ during the past few games, different from his natural role in the attacking midfield. However, he performed significantly in the

Serie A

thumping 4-0 victory over

Benevento

on Saturday.

The 28-year-old has played in 16 games across all competitions but Bergomi is confident that more can be expected from him as he may appear more in

Antonio Conte

’s line up.

In his new role, Eriksen has began to climb the pecking order,

” he explained.

He gives Inter an extra option from set pieces which could prove to be pivotal

.”

When asked about the transfer window, Bergomi, who has been with the club since he started his career, stated that: “

We know about the economic difficulties, the club could not do anything.”

Bergomi was also quizzed about the clash against

Fiorentina

on Friday, revealing that there would not be enough time for the squad to rest for their trip as they are set to face

Juventus

in the Coppa Italia today.

In Florence it is always a difficult game for the Nerazzurri but first you have the match with Juventus, it’s never a trivial match and you can’t afford to rest players,

” he warned.
