Kroos admits his side lacked quality in the Osasuna draw
Saturday draw at Osasuna prevented the Los Blancos from overtaking their bitter rivals, Atletico, at the top of the table.
Real Madrid
couldn’t hand anything better than a goalless draw from their Saturday La Liga clash as
Zinedine Zidane’s
side had only one shot on the target throughout the game.
Toni Kroos
believes his side suffered from a distinct lack of quality in the final third.
“We created very few chances and with our quality we have to create more, even if the pitch is difficult to play on,”
the 31-year-old midfielder told in post-match interview with Marca.
“We knew this game would be against a rival that likes to defend.
“With the changes (in the second half) we tried to change what we lacked before the break.
“We can’t be happy with the result, because we want to fight to be first in the table and the draw doesn’t help.”
Although the Los Blancos are only one point away from the La Liga leaders, Diego Simeone’s side have three games in hand over the defending champions.
Real Madrid
will next face
Athletic Club
in a Supercopa de España match on Thursday before a Copa del Rey clash at
Alcoyano
.
