Inter president denies rumors club is for sale
The main shareholder of Inter Milan does not intend to sell the shares.
The Corriere Dello Sport claims that Steven Zhang intends to sell the Inter Milan club because of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on Suning Holding. According to Corriere Dello Sport, the club's costs for the Suning Holding are very high; Zhang is looking to sell the club. However, Inter denied the allegations in a statement.
It said:
“With regard to the rumours reported today, specifically referring to the possibility of FC Internazionale Milano being sold, president Steven Zhang categorically denies these false claims and stresses that they are entirely baseless.”
Suning Holding became the main shareholder of the club in 2016 with acquiring a majority stake in Inter. Zhang has been able to make positive changes in the club's performance in recent years. Inter finished fourth to ninth between 2012 and 2017, but last season at the end of the season, they were just one point behind the champions, Juventus, and finished runners-up.
