Liverpool preparing a deal for £45m Dutch defender

Liverpool are in the middle of an injury crisis as Joel Matip is the only senior centre-back available. Lille’s defender, Sven Botman, is the most recent name linked to the Reds.

According to Foot Mercato,

Liverpool

have contacted

Sven Botman’s

agent in November to enquire about the defender’s availability in January,

Inter Milan

is among the clubs that are interested in the Ligue 1 defender. Reds’ were previously linked to

Lille’s

Renato Sanches

as a potential replacement to

Wijnaldum

.

The French club previously valued the 20-year-old defender at

£45m

, but due to

Lille’s

financial struggles, a fee around

£27m

fee seems to be enough to seal the deal for the defender.

Sven Botman

signed for

Lille

from

Ajax

for an €8.00m fee this summer and was among the club’s regulars this season.
