Inzaghi praises Benevento spirit and determination
Pippo Inzaghi hailed Benevento after a 2-0 win against relegation rivals Genoa and saw his side’s performance as a show of maturity and a turning point for them.

are standing in the middle of the Serie A table and this result increased their gap from the relegation zone.
“We mustn’t get big-headed, because we know where we’ve come from and have to keep our feet on the ground,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“This was a real turning point for us, as Genoa might be missing some big players, but we can introduce old guys like Sau and he can still score goals.
“It’s a pity the fans aren’t able to enjoy watching this team in Serie A, as they suffered last time the club was in the top flight and would’ve loved to relish these victories. The important thing is that we keep on our toes, because the moment we let go an inch, we’re done for.
“You can’t ever take a rest in Serie A, or you will get punished. I know that well and I have to start that attitude from the touchline to the squad.
“I knew this mission was a battle to secure our safety, but with this hunger, spirit and determination, we can do it. This was a real show of maturity and we need to keep on that track.”
