Maran: ‘We tried to win, we couldn’t make it.’
Genoa coach Rolando Maran says his men were furious when they couldn’t win the game and pick up all the three points against Milan.
“The nice thing is that we were angry at the end of the game, that says a lot about our mentality and what we want to do,”
Maran
said after Genoa’s 2-2 draw against Milan

“We tried to win, we couldn’t make it. It’s no coincidence Milan haven’t lost in nine months.
“We are trying to become a complete team, today’s answer was good, it’s nice we were angry, we wanted all the three points.
“I can finally work with the group. We are developing a few things, I am trying to bring new things that can help us to overtake some difficulties. I’ve tried to make this team more dangerous, the lads are working well and with commitment, there are many positive things but we need to win now.
“I want my teams to be dangerous, I want everyone to take part in setting up the attacking action. We can improve, sometimes we get scared after the first difficult situation, we need to work on our self-confidence and try to improve.
“We faced a tough moment, we tried to overcome it. We are fitter than before, especially with some players. Now we feel better, we are improving and the table must improve even if we can’t see the table now, we need to focus on our performances only.
“I respect Stefano Pioli, we are friends and he deserves this, he is among the most prepared coaches, I am happy when I see him doing well, except against me
