"As the head coach, Cannavaro must be held culpable for that. The Italian's tactical nous still leaves much to be desired," the newspaper said.

Some fans requested to dismiss Cannavaro on the Guangzhou Evergrande club’s social media.

"Step down. Otherwise, you will destroy the team,” one of the fans wrote.

After a 1-1 draw against the Bluewings, Guangzhou Evergrande are on the verge of elimination from the Asian Champions League.

If Suwon Bluewings win the game against

by two or more goals on Friday, they will be in the round of 16, and Guangzhou Evergrande will be eliminated.
