Simeone praise Lemar's performance
Simeone has seen signs of improvement in Lemar's performance.
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has praised midfielder Thomas Lemar following his side's victory over Valencia.
Lemar, who joined Atletico from Monaco in 2018, managed to score three goals and three assists in his first season but failed in the next two seasons and did not record any goals or assists. After poor performances in the 2019-20 season, the same situation is going on for him this season. However, during Atletico's 1-0 win over Valencia, he showed signs of progress and created dangerous situations on several occasions in the opponent's goal.
After the game, the Argentine coach praised the performance of his team midfielder.
"He played very well, believe me,"
Simeone said.
"We do not have players who have his drive and shooting ability.
"The talk fades when we don't see him so often, but hopefully we can give him the confidence he needs because he can do us a lot of good.
"The squad gives me the possibility to give everyone the best minutes. I am very happy with Lemar, who has not been like today for a long time."
