The return of Velaphi to hometown club

Perth Glory is happy to announce that Tando Velaphi, the goalkeeper has signed a one-year contract with the club.

, the-23-year Australia international goes back to what is the third spell with his hometown club for which he previously made a total of 74 A-League appearances in.

with the AFC Champions League and A-League campaigns rapidly approaching.

"I’m a

Perth

boy and the club is very special to me,” he said, "so I’m really pleased to be back."

"Football is always full of twists and turns and now I’m really looking forward to take the opportunity that has been handed to me by [Head Coach] Richard Garcia."

Garcia is also excited that

Velaphi

is coming back.

"

 is a fantastic, experienced goalkeeper and it is great to have two genuine A-League number ones fighting it out for a starting spot," he said.

"As well as a consummate professional,

Tando

 is also a great person and I know how much it means to him to represent his hometown club."

The start of

Velaphi

's

Glory

career was in 2007, he made his A-League debut for Queensland Roar aged just 19.

By 2018,

Velaphi

was back at

Glory

and he was a member of the squad that claimed the Premiers' Plate last year.
