Qatari Bidder's father is against Man United's investment

Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani made a bid in the region of £4.5 billion last month. However, former Qatar Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad revealed that his son's offer hasn't got his entire backing.

It was reported earlier that Qatari investors are ready to make a £5 billion bid to buy Manchester United from the Glazer family. This report claims that a consortium including Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, the country’s former prime minister, has decided to enter the bidding war for Manchester United.

In an interview with

The Athletic

, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani revealed he's neither a fan of football nor an investment.

I am not a football fan,”

he said.

“I don’t like this investment. Maybe it will work well. But you know, some of my sons like this, they always discuss it with me. They’re pushing hard. This isn’t my speciality. Let me put it like this: I am an investor. If it will one day be a good investment, I will think about it. I will not look at it as something you do just as an advertisement.”
