Stellini admits that Tottenham fans ‘deserve much more’ after shock exit in the FA Cup

Tottenham find themselves out of yet another trophy as they lose to Championship side Sheffield United.

Stellini admits that Spurs' fans "deserve much more" as they suffer a shock defeat against

Sheffield United

in the FA Cup fifth-round.

Iliman Ndiaye's late strike saw

Spurs

defeated against the Championship and see themselves out of yet another competition.

"If you don't win a game like this, it's because something was not perfect,"

he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"Today, our energy was not enough to put the opponent in great difficulty.

"We had opportunities to score, but now we have to analyze the goal we conceded. In the moment, if you concede a goal, you need time to recover.

"There was more energy from the changes [we made], but we have to improve a lot. I can only apologize to the fans for our performance. They deserve much more than this."

Sheffield, who are now second in the Championship, has reached their third FA Cup quarter finals in the last four seasons. Manager Paul Heckingbottom revealed that they will use FA Cup as a release away from their hard fight for promotion.

"We have a lot of games now,"

he said.

"This competition is parked now, and it is onto the league. The Championship is what we are fighting for, but we do try to enjoy the FA Cup just as much."
