, Man City and Real Madrid player Robinho has been convicted of rape in Italy in 2017.

Italy’s justice ministry has issued a request for the arrest of ex-Milan striker Robinho, which they hope Brazilian officials enforce.

Robinho was found guilty of rape, alongside 5 other Brazilian, in 2017. That ruling was then upheld in 2020 by an appeals court and now Italy’s supreme court has upheld it once again in 2023.

Robinho could face up to 9 years at prison with Italy’s supreme court wanting him to serve his time in Brazil.

However, Brazil doesn’t extradite its nationals, which means Robinho will only be arrested if he left Brazil.

Brazil’s justice ministry’s department of asset repatriation and international legal cooperation will analyze the request made by Italy’s supreme court and judge if Robinho is guilty or not.
