Neymar supports openly gay footballer Jakub Jankto on his coming out

PSG winger Neymar has declared his support for Sparta Prague loanee Jakub Jankto who has come out as gay recently.

Jakub Jankto

became the first active international men’s player to come out as gay earlier today.

The Czech Republic international posted a video on the socials earlier today, saying:

“Like everybody else, I have my strengths, I have my weaknesses. I have been doing it the best I can for years. Like everybody else, I also want to live my life in freedom, without fears, without prejudice, without violence, only love. I am homosexual and I no longer want to hide myself.”

PSG’s Brazilian starlet

Neymar

has now sent his support for the former Getafe player, saying:

"It's an important day. Everyone is free, prejudices must be less important, whether it's homophobia, racism, any form of discrimination. I didn't know [that Jankto made the announcement]. But every human being should be free to do whatever they want."

Jankto remains as one of only handful of male players to come out as gay, with the likes of Adelaide United’s Josh Cavallo and Blackpool’s Jack Daniels being the other ones to have done the same.
