Ten Hag vows to “do everything to bring a trophy in” this season
Having last tasted success in 2017, Erik ten Hag vows to bring silverware back to Manchester United ahead of their Carabao Cup first-leg clash with Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.
Having not tasted success for five years,
Manchester Unitedare on their longest run of draught in 40 years. However, Carabao Cup provides the Red Devils an opportunity, with
Erik ten Hag's side traveling to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest for the semi-finals first leg this midweek.
The Dutch coach told his press conference:
"It's the best feeling you can have, winning a trophy.
"I had the luck in my career to win some trophies and it's magnificent, especially for the fans.
"It's so great and I think the fans here have some experience, especially the older ones.
"But now it is a period Manchester United didn't win trophies and it is too long ago. We are aware of that fact and we have to do everything to bring a trophy in."
Despite competing for glory in the Europa League and FA Cup, their chances for the Premier League faded after a 3-2 defeat to
Arsenal
at the weekend.
"
We left it behind,"
he said.
"We set the right conclusions then, we have to move forward and quickly because Wednesday night is a big game so the focus is on that
."
Asked whether Martial, Dalot, and Sancho will appear in United's Wednesday clash, ten Hag said:
"No.
"All the players who were not available for the Arsenal game, so Dalot, Martial, Sancho, are also not available for Wednesday."
