Neymar describes his injury as ‘one of the hardest moments’ of career

Brazil superstar Neymar Jr. was injured against Serbia on Brazil’s World Cup opener which leaves him unable to play in any of the group stage matches.

PSG star

Neymar

admits that he is experiencing “one of the most difficult moments” of his professional career after suffering an ankle injury against

Serbia

on Thursday.

Brazil

moved past Serbia after a sensational display from Richarlison put the Selecao 2-0 up but Neymar limped off the pitch injured in the second half of the match. It was then revealed that he will miss the remainder of Brazil’s group stage matches with a severe swelling on his right ankle.

"The pride and love I feel wearing the shirt is unexplainable. If God gave me the opportunity to choose a country to be born in, it would be BRAZIL,"

Neymar wrote on Instagram.

"Nothing in my life was given or easy, I always had to chase after my dreams and my goals. Never wishing someone harm but helping those in need.

"Today has become one of the most difficult moments of my career… and again in a World Cup. I have an injury yes, it's annoying, it's going to hurt but I'm sure I'll have a chance to come back because I'll do my best to help my country, my companions and myself."
