“Mitrovic would go to World Cup without a leg” -Serbia coach

While the Serbian striker is injured at the moment, Serbia manager Dragan Stojkovic claims that even losing a leg won’t stop Mitrovic from going to the World Cup!

The Serbian striker has missed

Fulham

’s last two games due to injury but Stojkovic says that there is no way his team go to the World Cup without the in-form Mitrovic.

Mitrovic has scored 9 goals in his 12 appearances for Fulham this season which has come after an incredible season where he scored 43 goals in 46 Championship matches for Fulham.

Recently, Fulham manager Marco Silva stated that Mitrovic may be a doubt for the World Cup but Stojkovic feels that it is out of the question and that Mitrovic will get to play in the competition even with one leg.

"Mitrovic will go to the World Cup without a leg, we can also cut off his head — he'll still go,"

he added.

"We have until tonight to change things, but I strongly doubt anything will change.

"We'll see today when they come [for training]. With his behaviour and games, and the injuries he had… He begged to play after that."

Serbia will be facing Brazil on November 24 with both their star players, Vlahovic and Mitrovic, out due to injury but Stojkovic is adamant that both of them will be fit for the

World Cup

opener.

"We are working on it. There is a song by Aleksandra Prijovic that says: 'It's not who was told, but who was destined".

"I haven't seen the players yet, but now I'm going to hang out with the doctors. I guess the players will arrive by [6pm, for training].

"There are problems and small problems, but there is still a long time before the match with Brazil, this [friendly on Friday] against Bahrain is not important for us."
