Milan’s Tomori pleased with second chance against Chelsea
The Rossoneri defender is delighted to have been given another chance in the battle against the Blues in the Champions League and talked about what the England coach said to him before the World Cup in Qatar.

will be in the starting XI for Milan when they take on Chelsea on Tuesday; a game that comes a week after their disappointing 3-0 loss at the hands of the Blues. Milan, however, bounced back with a 2-0 win over Juventus in Serie A on Saturday. The England international was able to break the deadlock in their clash against Juve as he met the back of the net.
“Yes, I was angry after the game against Chelsea, so I wanted to give my all on the pitch and I showed my feelings when I scored. I wanted to erase a bad performance against Chelsea, so I expressed my feelings,”
he admitted at a press conference, as quoted by Milannews.
“We knew we hadn’t played well, it was not our regular performance. It was important to react against Juventus.
“Football always gives you a second chance, which we must use better this time. We need no motivation; we’ll try to push even more.”
Milan have gained four points from three matches in the Champions League and are on point with Chelsea, with RB Salzburg leading Group E with one point more.
“We want to give our all on the pitch, we want to win every game,”
continued Tomori.
“We must learn from the last defeat, it was important for the growth of the team. Now we have the opportunity to prove who we are in front of our fans.
“Milan are a top club and I am proud to be here. We are a strong team and we can raise the bar.”
The defender was not part of the England squad for the previous two friendlies in September and after England’s loss at the hands of Italy, he returned to his club.
“Every game is an opportunity to prove that I can play with the national team,”
said the ex-Chelsea defender.
“Southgate told me I must continue like this and that he watches every game. I know I have to give my all on the pitch. Obviously, I want to go to the World Cup.”
Tomori had his debut for Gareth Southgate’s England in 2019 when he was featuring for the Blues and made three appearances for The Three Lions.
