Jose Mourinho: "Totti will always be a symbol of Roma"

The possibility of Francesco Totti returning to Roma is "not an issuea problem," according to José Mourinho, who also claims that "every trophy is special."

The Portuguese coach gave an exclusive interview to

La Gazzetta Dello Sport

the night before

Roma

plays Inter on the road. It will be his third time playing against

Inter

at San Siro, but he won't be there tomorrow because he was sent off in the last game against

Atalanta

.

The Special One had won the treble with Inter in 2009-10 and led the Giallorossi to their first European trophy, the Conference League, last season. He's won titles in Spain, England, and Portugal, but he can't decide which one he likes best.

“To me, it is impossible to choose, and every trophy is unique,” he said.

Jose Mourinho

was also asked what he thought about Totti's possible return as a director to the Stadio Olimpico. People say that the former striker is close with the Friedkin family, and there were rumors that he could return to the club last year.

“This problem does not exist,” said Mourinho. “Francesco will always be a symbol of Roma, regardless of what he will do in his life.”

The Inter vs. Roma game is also a meeting between the cities of

Milan

and Rome. It takes place in one of Mourinho's most famous stadiums.

The Special One said,

“Milan is the engine of Italy’s economy, Rome is the political centre and, we can say, the open-air museum of Italy’s history,”

said the Special One.

“I am lucky to have had the chance to coach in both cities. Every stadium brings strong and pleasant memories, each one of them representing essential phases of my career.“
