Arsenal manager calls UWCL goalpost controversy a 'weird experience'

Arsenal Women manager Jonas Eidevall says he has never experienced anything like the game against Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday.

with one goal on Wednesday at Amsterdam to reach the UEFA Women's Champions League group stage. The first leg finished 2-2 last week in London.

In a strange incident, the goalposts were smaller than regulation at the stadium and officials used a ladder and tape measure to address the situation.

Eidevall after the game about the goalpost situation said it was a weird experience for him.

"It has been a weird experience coming here and playing a big club like Ajax and we have to measure the goals and it turned out they were 10cm too small,"

Eidevall after the game told reporters.

"I have never experienced anything like it.”

He also criticized the referee for not allowing Arsenal to make  a concussion substitute after a head injury to Beth Mead.

"The problem that I have is that I asked the fourth official if we can do a concussion sub and she says ‘yes.’ Then when we are preparing Lina [Hurtig] and when we are about to do it she says ‘no.’ ... That misinformation from the referee, I don’t understand it. I hope it is not as bad as it looks," said the head coach.”

The draw for the UEFA Women's Champions League group stage is on Monday 3 October.
