Reus praised Haller, calling him a nightmare for defenders

The captain of Dortmund believes that a good striker has been recruited to replace Haaland.

Dortmund

captain

Marco Reus

has praised Erling Haaland's replacement Sebastian Haller, claiming he will be a nightmare for Bundesliga defenders.

The Ivory Coast striker left Ajax for 34.5 million euros and joined Dortmund to fill the void left by the Norwegian striker who recently joined Manchester City. Haaland, who joined Dortmund in January 2020, has been exceptional this term and Haller will have a tough job replacing him, but Reus believes the Ivorian forward can fill Haaland's place well.

He said:

"He's a superb striker. When we used to play Frankfurt, he was always a bit of a nightmare for our centre-backs because he's got everything.

"He's big physically, he has a good technique, and he's very comfortable in the box, even with high balls. For us midfielders who like to play the ball, it's important to have someone to combine with."

Haller, who once played in Frankfurt, is nicknamed The Bulldozer. At 6'3 , he is one of the tallest players in the league and has great physical strength.
