Norway star Hegerberg pays tribute to shooting victims in Oslo

Norway star Ada Hegerberg paid tribute to the victims of the nightclub shooting on Saturday.

Ada Hegerberg

raised her rainbow captain's armband after scoring against New Zealand on Saturday to pay tribute to the victims of this weekend's nightclub shooting in Norway. She later published a photo of the gesture on her Twitter alongside the message "Love".

At least two people have been killed and 21 others wounded when a man opened fire outside a popular gay bar and nearby locations in Norway’s capital Oslo, police said, ahead of a planned annual Pride parade. Norwegian police said that they were treating the deadly shootings as a terrorist attack. Norway’s security service also has raised its terror alert to the highest level.

The 26-year-old plays for

Lyon

in France and won the 2018 Ballon d’Or. She is also the all-time Women's Champions League goalscorer. She has won seven league titles, five Coupes de France, and six Women's Champions Leagues with Lyon.

Hegerberg refused to play for Norway national team for several years and missed the 2019 Women's World Cup due to the treatment of women players but she has returned to the side in 2022 ahead of the European Championship.
