Mbappe aims to win Champions League after contract extension

has claimed that they are paving the way for the Champions League after committing to his future at the club.

The Ligue 1 champions are aiming to win the top European club title and have reached the knockout stages in the last ten seasons. They reached the final in the 2019-20 season but lost to

Bayern Munich

, reached the semi-finals in the 2020-21 season and were eliminated last season after losing to Real Madrid in the round of 16. Mbappe was on the verge of moving to Madrid but suddenly extended his contract with PSG and now that he is committed to the club, he is fighting to win the Champions League.

He said:

"The Champions League with PSG is a clear goal. It's what we want, but there is a path to take.

"First of all, we have to be a winner at the national level, because in the last two years we have not been."

Mbappe scored 28 goals in Ligue 1 last season, with only Robert Lewandowski outscoring him by 35 goals. He also had 17 assists and had a direct impact on a total of 45 goals.
