Barcelona will recieve cash if Moriba joins Ajax

Mon 20 June 2022 | 7:44

The former Barca midfielder is on the verge of moving to the Dutch league.

If

Iliax Moriba

is transferred from

Leipzig

to Ajax,

Barcelona

will receive a sum of money in the summer.

Moriba is close to leaving the Bundesliga after 12 months in Germany and a poor performance in Leipzig. The Guinean midfielder was at La Masia from 2010 to 2019 and was expected to become one of Barcelona's most influential players. However, despite making his La Liga debut in 2021, he left Barcelona six months later. He went on loan to Valencia in January, but Los Che did not intend to buy him permanently. He then went to Leipzig and now reports suggest that Barcelona will receive a fee if he is transferred to Ajax.

Alfred Schreuder, Ronald Koeman's assistant at Barcelona, is currently in charge of Ajax and wants to sign his former midfielder. Ajax are expected to pay € 22 million to sign him, of which 10%, or € 2.2 million, will be Barcelona's share.
