Inter Milan is close to securing the return of Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

Fabrizio Romano claims that

is negotiating with

about the final loan fee for

and they will increase their offer.  He says that next week will be key to this transfer and all parties want to find a solution soon.

According to Romano, Chelsea has told Inter they are ready to accept a €10 million loan fee plus add-ons and the Italian club is waiting for owners to give the final green light before making a new offer for Lukaku.

Lukaku returned to Chelsea last summer for €110 million but he has failed to impress under Thomas Tuchel and started just 16 Premier League games during the 2021-22 season and scored only 8 goals.

The 29-year-old striker scored 24 goals and helped Inter to win the Serie A title in the 2020-2021 season and after another unsuccessful spell in England, he wants to return to Italy.

English media on Sunday claimed that Chelsea wants to sign Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling this summer after selling Lukaku.

Thomas Tuchel is a big admirer of the Manchester City winger, who is out of contract next summer. The Blues boss believes Raheem Sterling is better suited to Chelsea's style of play than Romelu Lukaku.
