PSG complete permanent deal for defender Nuno Mendes

Paris Saint Germain has signed Nuno Mendes from Sporting Lisbon on a permanent deal.

on a season long loan last summer, and the PSG has now decided to activate the option to purchase him permanently.

"Paris Saint-Germain has completed the permanent transfer of Nuno Mendes. The Portugal left-back is now tied to the club from the French capital until 30 June 2026,"

the PSG said in a statement.

According to the French press, PSG will pay Sporting around 40 million euros. He is the 13th Portuguese player to represent Paris Saint-Germain.

Mendes played 37 matches for PSG in his first season in France and provided two assists. The teenager helped his team to win the Ligue 1 title. He was one of four PSG players named to the Ligue 1 team of the year alongside Gianluigi Donnarumma, Marquinhos, and Kylian Mbappe.

He was also nominated for the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year award and he was named the best left-back in the competition.

Mendes also has played in 13 games for Portugal's national team and played at UEFA Euro 2020.
