Pochettino wants to be judged by results, not relationship with Mbappe

The Paris Saint-Germain coach says that Kylian Mbappe won't decide whether Mauricio Pochettino stays or goes.

Mauricio Pochettino

is "100%" committed to

Paris Saint-Germain

and doesn't think his relationship with

Kylian Mbappe

will affect his future at the club.

This season, there has been a lot of talk about both Pochettino and Mbappe. But even though the star forward signed a new deal with Paris and turned down

Real Madrid

, it is not clear how this affects his coach.

Since PSG lost to Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League, even though Mbappe scored in both legs, pressure has been building on Pochettino. As part of his new contract, Mbappe is said to have a big say in how the club is run. It seems important for Pochettino to keep the World Cup winner on his side.

But in an interview with COPE, the former

Tottenham

manager seemed sure he would still get a chance to show what he could do at the

Parc des Princes

.

"I've said I'm here for sure. "Today, I can say for sure that I am here," Pochettino said. "I have a contract for one more year. There are challenges, and that makes any coach want to do better.

"I don't think [his friendship with Mbappe is important]. My work will be how people judge me. We've won every title that the coaches before us have won. You have to give value to something you get often. It's hard to win in this league."

Pochettino said, "Of course, 100 percent," when asked if he wanted to keep his job. It's a club with big plans. The Champions League is the biggest letdown because people wanted it so badly."
